FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?
Keep your skin well moisturized and free from damage. Sunburn, scrapes, bruises, etc. make it difficult for your artist to work and inhibit proper healing. Please wear appropriate clothing that is loose-fitting around the area so that I can work comfortably to make the experience the best for us both. If it is located on your back, it is recommended that you wear a zip-up or button-up shirt that is easily turned around. Limit alcohol prior to your appointment as it may cause excessive bleeding. Clients who appear intoxicated will not be tattooed. Please let me know if you have any medical conditions that I should be aware of.
WHERE IS THE STUDIO LOCATED?
My studio is located inside Phenix Salon Suites Fruitville in Sarasota, Florida. The address is 6405 Initiative Blvd. Suite 127, Sarasota, Florida, 34240.
THIS IS MY FIRST TATTOO, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?
When you walk into my studio, you will be greeted and asked to fill out a consent form. You will need to bring a legal form of identification and be 18 or older - minors are not accepted as clients at this time. Once your consent form is filled out, we will talk with you about your design and I will show you my ideas for your tattoo. When we agree on a design, we will discuss placement and sizing. From there, I will sterilize and shave the area, then place the stencil on your skin for you to see in the mirror and approve of. You are more than welcome to ask to move or re-size the stencil as many times as you want. Please do not feel like you are burdening me, I want you to be happy with your forever artwork. When you're happy with the design and ready to start, we will begin the tattooing process. All supplies are sterile to ensure client safety. After the tattoo is finished, I may ask for photos of your piece for my portfolio. If you need a break at any point during the tattoo, let me know and we can take as much time as you need.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE PRICING?
Tattoo pricing is determined by individual piece factoring in design, size, shading of the piece, area of the body, etc. I do not tattoo sternums, buttocks, breasts, or private areas.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?
Cash is always preferred - however, I accept Zelle, Venmo, and Apple Cash as well. If you choose to use a credit card, a 5% processing fee will be added.
WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE?
Contact me as soon as possible through email. Your deposit is refundable up to 2 weeks ahead of time. You may reschedule up any time up to 1 week prior to your appointment through the original booking access link.
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY TATTOO AFTERWARDS?
Your tattoo should be washed 2-3 times a day with unscented, antibacterial soap and warm water. Pat dry the area gently with a paper towel. Use a thin layer of moisturizer over the tattooed area once dry. I do not recommend any product made from petroleum (Vaseline, Aquaphor, etc.) as they are so thick in consistency and can cause blocked pores. This process should be continued for about 3-4 weeks. Some scabbing and redness is normal, but if it shows signs of infection please consult a medical professional. Your tattoo will likely be itchy and scab/peel afterwards, this is normal, but avoid scratching at the area - this interferes with the healing process and can result in an altered appearance. You may notice the tattoo looks dull/faded around 1-2 weeks after your appointment - this is the skin regenerating and the pigment will resurface soon after. One free touch up is offered no earlier than 4 weeks post-appointment. You must email me a photo of your tattoo to determine if it could use a touch up.
HOW LONG CAN I LEAVE THE RECOVERY DERM SHIELD ON?
You can keep this covering on for up to 6 days. If the edges of the bandage peel up but do not reach the tattoo, you may leave it on. If it comes up all the way to the tattoo, you must remove the bandage. No matter when you remove it, take it off in the shower and pull it gently until it is removed completely. You may notice pigmented fluid, this is normal and can easily be washed off with unscented soap and water. There may also be a sticky residue around the edges, you can wash this off in the same way. If you notice redness or itchiness around the bandage, remove it as soon as possible and follow normal aftercare instructions.
